Summer at Last!

After suffering through a bleak Junuary, we've finally got some sunny July weather. The sun has made our lives hot and busy. Mei-Li has already been to Hoop Camp where she got ribbons for passing and dribbling. Yay!

We want to try new things this summer, so one day we trekked downtown to a little candy store we'd just discovered. ML had lots of fun picking out a little bag of treats, and we both enjoyed trying Mini Melts, tiny bits of ice cream.

What can you do for dinner that tops a visit to the candy store? Spaghetti monsters! I saw this on Facebook and knew we'd have to try it. We pushed dry spaghetti noodles through pieces of hot dog and then boiled them. (Un)fortunately, there was only enough for one serving, but Mei-Li loved it.

One afternoon, it was so hot after Hoop Camp, we had to get the hose. We attached a little wiggly hose to the main one and put it in the back yard. It took a lot of effort to keep the water spray from blocking the path next to the yard, but ML did it and also managed to create her own water slide. Bonus!

On the way home in the car, Mei-Li told me she never thought she'd ever be cool again. After some adventures in her backyard water park, she had to come in and warm up in her big, fluffy bathrobe.
